CREWS
What we build / 06
Six specialties.
One shop. One crew.
Most projects need more than one of these. We do them all under one roof, so the steel matches the panel, the panel matches the pole, the pole matches the install.
- 01
Street & Security Lighting
High-mast street lights, security floodlights, and area illumination for streets, compounds, schools, and public spaces across Kenya.
— Galvanised steel high-mast poles, fabricated in-house and installed on site— LED luminaires sized for 12 m to 20 m mounting heights— Daylight + motion sensor options for compounds and parking lots - 02
Solar Lighting & Off-grid Power
Solar street lights, solar-powered borehole pumps, and small off-grid power systems for rural locations without reliable mains supply.
— All-in-one solar street lights with integrated battery and LED head— DC solar pumping for boreholes — no inverter required— Battery sizing matched to local rainy-season hours of darkness - 03
Metal Fabrication & Welding
Custom mild-steel and stainless fabrication — gates, grills, balustrades, structural members, equipment housings, brackets, mounts.
— MIG and stick welding for mild steel; TIG for stainless— Bending, rolling, drilling, and surface preparation in-house— Hot-dip galvanising and powder-coating coordinated with trusted partners - 04
Borehole Pumps & Water Systems
Supply, installation, and servicing of submersible borehole pumps — AC mains or solar DC — plus storage tanks, distribution, and control panels.
— Sizing based on borehole yield test results and required daily volume— Pump installation, riser pipe assembly, and surface plumbing— Float-switch and dry-run protection wired into purpose-built panels - 05
Control Panels & Electrical Enclosures
Outdoor-rated control panels built from the enclosure up — breakers, contactors, timers, soft-starters, MCC sections — sized for the load, labelled for the next technician.
— Powder-coated steel enclosures rated to IP55 / IP65 for outdoor use— Component selection from Schneider, ABB, Hager, and other Tier-1 brands— Wiring to labelled terminal blocks for serviceability - 06
On-site Installation Crews
Trained installation teams who own the work end-to-end — civils, erection, electrical, commissioning, hand-over — anywhere in Kenya.
— Crews self-mobilise — vehicles, tooling, lifting equipment, generators— Civil works: pole foundations, control-panel plinths, cable trenching— Mechanical: hoisting, alignment, torquing, and load-testing
About / 01–05
Workshop to contractor — twelve years and counting.
Benlight started as a fabrication workshop. Then clients kept asking us to install what we built. Then to wire it. Then to run the pump that fed the borehole that the lights were planted around. Today we own the whole arc.
